Stephanie Reid

Mirror Shard Blade

This piece was made for British track and field Paralympian, Stefanie Reid, a model and ambassador for the ‘Be Real Campaign’.

Multi-medal winner Stefanie swapped her running gear for high fashion to become the first ever British amputee to grace the catwalk at London Fashion Week, wearing the Mirror Shard Blade, the result of a collaboration between AltLimbPro and fashion designer Lenie Boya.

“It was great to get a little bit of diversity on the runway turning my old running blade into a stiletto heel with a chandelier on top. When I walk into a mall with my everyday leg I get people saying to their children ‘don’t stare’. Here is a leg that is meant to be stared at and it’s meant to be embraced”

Chrome lacquer, mirror and clear perspex shards.
